Everywhere I go the common question asked is “What have you been up to?” So let’s catch up. My biggest blessing has been the opportunity to reconnect with family and friends. I had the opportunity to help my former colleague, Patti Radle, in the successful Inner City Development food pantry fundraiser. Then I organized the Premier of the children’s picture book celebrating the life of Emma Tenayuca, the courageous organizer of 12,000 San Antonio pecan shellers in 1938.
I’m now involved in several boards which span the arts, women’s health, police citizen advisory, camp for children with disabilities and social worker’s PAC political organization. I was a guest speaker at St. Mary’s University and am planning to return next semester.
My new project is organizing the September League of Women Voters annual dinner fundraiser.
I feel so blessed to have the chance to give back to the community I love.
On behalf of myself and my family, we wish you all a blessed and safe summer. Let’s keep in touch.
